| WVALA Presents… The Conference is being held in a new location in a different part of the state. Please make every effort to attend as the planning committee has put together a really exciting 2 days. The conference will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday and you will have the opportunity to interact with guests on topics such as: How to Recruit and Retain Good Employees; How to Deal with Problem Employees; and How to Work With Difficult Family Members. The State Long Term Care Ombudsman, Suzanne Messenger, Esq. will present a session on “Resident’s Rights.” Sharon Kirk, Assisted Living Program Manager for OHFLAC will be in charge of the Friday afternoon session which will end at 4:00 pm. During the conference there will be a “silent auction.” On Friday morning the TTA Trolley will take everyone to Woodlands Retirement Community for a special tour with refreshments. You won’t want to miss this wonderful opportunity to visit a premier facility featuring independent living, cottages, assisted living and health care at the “Castle on the Hill.” Thursday evening the awards will be presented during a dinner/cruise aboard the Mark Twain Riverboat. A buffet dinner will be served during a two hour cruise on the Ohio River. The Pullman Hotel is in downtown Huntington across the street from Pullman Plaza. There are lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment. The Huntington Ribfest will be happening during the conference with lots of activities and entertainment just down the street. Travis Tritt will perform on Thursday evening Certificates will be given to everyone who attends the whole conference. Eight Credit Hours will be given. WVALA Provider # is WV 2004-0457 for continuing education hours by the State Board for Registered Professional Nurses. |
